BMO’s partnership in groundbreaking mental health research

BMO is an advocate for mental health awareness, and a strong supporter of the fight to end the stigma associated with it. So we’re proud to announce that the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), in partnership with BMO, today announced a first-of-its-kind Workplace Mental Health Playbook for Business Leaders. The Playbook, which features case studies from leading organizations – including BMO – provides a path to more effective solutions and better outcomes for employees and businesses.

CAMH is Canada’s largest mental health hospital, and a global leader in mental health research. With this announcement and partnership, BMO is reinforcing our commitment to mental health awareness, advocacy and action, in alignment with our Purpose and as part of our journey to achieve zero barriers to inclusion.

The Playbook includes recommendations, case studies and information on how companies can best implement mental health programs into their organizations. The recommendations are based on the best available global evidence, and were shaped by feedback CAMH researchers, clinicians and experts, as well as business leaders. Here are the five recommendations in the playbook:

  1. Create a long-term organization-wide mental health strategy
  2. Initiate mandatory mental health leadership training
  3. Develop tailored mental health supports
  4. Prioritize and optimize your return-to-work process checklist
  5. Track your progress
